    Frequently asked questions:
    • If your caravan is under 750kg (ATM), you are not required to obtain a Safety Certificate / Roadworthy Certificate for the transfer of registration. You simply complete the Queensland Transport Self assessment form
    • If your caravan has a permanently fixed gas supply, a Gas Certificate is required in addition to the Safety Certificate / Roadworthy Certificate.
    • Queensland Transport Safety Certificates / Roadworthy Certificates can only be issued by examiners who have been accredited by Queensland Transport.
    • For private sellers, Safety Certificates / Roadworthy Certificates are valid for two months or 2000 kilometres (whichever occurs first). For a dealer, the time frame is 1000 kilometres or 3 months.

    Need some repairs?

    Should your caravan/ trailer fail its initial inspection, Queensland Transport allows customers fourteen days to address the problems and book a re-inspection.
